The NGO Info-center, within the project “Information based on facts and transparency for successful Covid-19 immunization”, conducts monitoring of media coverage of the vaccination process. The monitoring and analysis of the media reporting on Covid-19 immunization is realized through the news aggregator – Time.mk, which includes a total of 125 media – news (63), portals (48) and sports media (14), by searching by key words – “vaccination”, “Filipce” and “anti-vaccines”. The main purpose of the monitoring is to determine the intensity, quality and dominant narratives in the media coverage of the entire process of Covid-19 vaccination in the country. This report covers the period from October 1 to October 31, 2021.

Key findings:

  • The analysis of media coverage during October showed the following tendencies:
  • Media interest in immunization against Covid-19 declines.
  • The media are less and less analyzing or researching the vaccination process and its effects.
  • Most often only information is transmitted from the health authorities about the number of sick, hospitalized and dead, compared to the number of vaccinated.
  • The most common topic associated with immunization is the third dose of vaccine

Many media outlets reported the views of the famous Croatian-German scientist, Ivan Dzikic, who participated in a workshop of the NGO Info-center for journalists in the country.
