The Forum for Civil Dialoguecoalition, which consists of the NGO Info-center, Youth Cultural Center – Bitola, Multikultura, Glasen Tekstilec, Community Center of Struga Municipality, Civil InitiativeOf Women – Sveti Nikole, Spectar, MDC and Idea Plus, in the period July-December 2022, carried out monitoring of information, communication and citizen participation in decision-making in the municipalities of Bitola, Shtip, Tetovo, Struga, Centar, Kriva Palanka, Sveti Nikole, Demir Hisar and Krushevo.
The purpose of the monitoring was to see how far the municipalities fulfill their legal obligations in terms of the quality of information, the efficiency of services and the organized forms of civic involvement for the key priorities of the interest of the entire community, as well as whether and in what way they realize the priorities of the citizens.
The forum for civil dialogue analyzed the municipal websites, available tools and mechanisms for informing, communicating and involving citizens, e-services, gender-disaggregated statistics, the preparation of municipal budgets and civic proposals and priorities. A request for access to public information was submitted to the municipalities, and meetings were held with representatives of the municipal administration.
The monitoring was carried out within the project “Civil Alliance for Progressive Changes at the Local Level”, financially supported by the Olof Palme International Center from Sweden.
